We are thrilled to announce the successful delivery of our Tiny Lab on Wheels, a mobile laboratory designed to empower researchers in their vital work on estuary health, water quality and environmental projects.

The Tiny Lab on Wheels is a self-contained mobile laboratory that brings research capabilities directly to the field. It allows scientists to conduct real-time analysis and assessments of environmental conditions without the constraints of traditional laboratory settings.

Key features of the Tiny Lab on Wheels include:

  • Off-Grid Capability: The lab operates independently with solar power and self-contained water supply, ensuring sustainability and flexibility in remote locations.
  • Mobile Accommodation: It includes comfortable lodging for researchers, allowing them to stay close to their work sites, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Versatile Applications: Whether studying water quality, monitoring estuary ecosystems, or conducting environmental research, the Tiny Lab on Wheels is designed to meet diverse investigation needs.

As we roll out the Tiny Lab on Wheels, we are eager to see the incredible work that will emerge from this initiative. We encourage researchers and organisations interested in utilising the lab to reach out and discuss potential projects.

We’ll be exhibiting the Tiny Lab on Wheels at the WA Wetlands Conference in February 2025. Held to celebrate World Wetlands Day every year by the WA Wetlands Centre Cockburn, the theme this year is The Way Forward for WA Wetlands: The Conversation We Have to Have https://www.thewetlandscentre.org.au/conference/

This is a great opportunity to show off the Tiny Lab on Wheels to a range of wetland researchers including PhD, Masters and Honours students and their supervisors. We’ll be set up to take booking for their field work.

This project is funded by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development through Royalties for Regions

We acknowledge the Noongar people as Traditional Custodians of this land and pay our respects to all Elders past and present
