The dry season has come at the end of an extremely cold winter that depleted pasture growth and put a considerable dent on contingency hay reserves. In response to this, the Western Beef Association Inc., through the Soil Wise Project, funded by the National Landcare Program Smart Farms Small Grants – An Australian Government Initiative, are delivering a series of Recovery Chat events.

The focus of Recovery Chat is to provide livestock producers with practical steps they can take to recover from the negative impacts of the current dry season and support recovery once rain arrives. The event is planned to commence around 2pm with short informal talks by a guest vet, agronomist, a financial counsellor, and a mental health advisor. Finishing off by 6pm with light refreshments.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday 21st May in the Peel-Harvey, with venue details to be confirmed. Keep an eye on the PHCC Facebook page and website for further information and registration details.
