The Peel-Harvey Catchment Council Inc. (PHCC) is pleased to advise that we have been selected as the Service Provider to deliver the Regional Land Partnerships program on the behalf of the Australian Government within the Peel-Harvey Region Management Unit until June 2023.

Jan Star AM, PHCC Acting Chair, said, “PHCC is delighted to have been the chosen services provider for the Peel-Harvey. We look forward to working with the community to deliver natural resource management services for Agriculture and Environmental outcomes in our catchment on behalf of the Australian Government. This is a new competitive approach, away from the grants model our community has been accustomed to, whereby the Australian Government is “purchasing” the delivery of specific NRM services through PHCC.  We now look forward to negotiating work orders for projects with the Australian Government. These projects will enable continued community and stakeholder engagement for action in the Peel-Harvey that meets Australian Government objectives for Ramsar wetlands, threatened species and communities, soil, biodiversity and vegetation and agriculture systems.”

This is an important role to deliver Environmental and Agricultural outcomes over the next five years on behalf of the Australian Government as part of the National Landcare Program Phase 2 which is “full steam ahead” with 47 organisations across Australia being selected to deliver the Regional Land Partnerships program. “Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources David Littleproud said the successful tenderers have demonstrated they have the knowledge, capability and experience to deliver vital sustainable agriculture services to regional communities. Minister for the Environment, Melissa Price, said the Regional Land Partnerships were a major investment in Australia’s biodiversity and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to supporting regional and local communities to protect Australia’s natural environment.”
