It has been that time of year again when the Greening Farms team visits project sites to see all the great work our landholders have completed under the Greening Farms project.

Known as “Greening Farms” the full project title “Greening the Peel-Harvey Landscape for Farming, Fodder and Fauna”, explains the full scope of this project and the wonderful work land managers in our catchment are undertaking. The project increases awareness and supports adoption of land management practices that improve and protect the condition of soil, biodiversity and vegetation on rural land across our diverse catchment.

Some of the works have included 590 hectares of Eucalyptus woodland being protect through fencing, 40 ha of saltbush established to stabilise soils and provide a fodder rotation, and fencing and revegetating 1.6 km of watercourse,. These projects help to support biodiversity and/or improved land management.
