The Peel-Harvey Catchment Council Inc. (PHCC) is seeking Expressions of Interest from local High Schools who are interested in participating in practical, hands-on curriculum-related activities to be delivered by the PHCC in 2019.

Through both incursions and excursions the PHCC’s “Wetlands and People” project aims to increase students’ (and teachers’) awareness, understanding and knowledge of the values of our local wetlands and build students’ skills to help manage and protect the wetlands and the resident and migratory shorebirds who live there. The Peel-Yalgorup System of wetlands, including the Peel-Harvey Estuary, are recognised as Wetlands of International Importance listed under the international treaty of the Ramsar Convention (Ramsar.org).

We are inviting schools to express their interest in being involved in one or all of the three educational activities the PHCC will deliver in 2019. You can download more details in relation to the activities here
