Perth Symphony Orchestra will provide a musical journey that celebrates the beauty of the Western Australian landscape as well as achievements in protecting the environment. This concert will feature Perth Chamber Orchestra musicians playing a range of pieces inspired by nature from Dvorak to Rutter. The program also includes stunning works from WA’s own Iain Grandage and John Butler.

Approximately ten minutes of footage from the Wetlands and Above feature film will be included in the collection of vision and soundscapes captured from all over Western Australia which will be played during the concert.  Wetlands from Above is a multi-media art project produced by PHCC in 2017 and involved the collaboration of a talented local videographer and local musicians. Wetlands from Above was designed to capture and celebrate the beauty of the local wetland, The Peel-Yalgorup System, which is listed as globally significant wetlands under the International Convention on Wetlands (or Ramsar Convention). The footage was filmed by drone and is a mesmerising journey that slowly meanders above the wetland system with each shot similar to a piece of abstract art.
