Planting equipment and light refreshments provided

Lowlands Nature Reserve protects 1,200ha of ecosystems on the Swan Coastal Plain including the only intact riverine system for the Serpentine River where it crosses the Swan Coastal Plain. The river vegetation provides habitat for endangered and priority species including Chuditch and Rakali and provides shade and improves water quality for the endangered Carter’s freshwater mussel as well as a range of native fish.

This project is supported by the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council though funding from the Alcoa Foundation’s ‘Three Rivers, One Estuary’ Initiative.
